Hello! I am a scientist, science communicator, and “plant guy”. My fascination with nature inspired me to pursue an undergraduate education in geochemistry, and I went on to earn a Ph.D. with a thesis on water-soil interaction. After graduating, I dove headfirst in invasive species management for a couple of years, briefly ran an outdoor field trip program, and now work as a hazardous waste technician, where I help keep household chemicals out of our soil and water. I’ve made two hands-on science communication activities: one on soil science and one on invasive species transport.
When not working, I can usually be found identifying plants, playing viola, or embroidering something irreverent.
